Joint-Venture SRP Launch at Grison-Garde

Because of the large number of students against the limited resources available, the Cadeau Vert Cap team with Willeme Vixamar & Wicheline Daréus, decided to have the SRP launch with a sample of students from each school.  Thus, a total of 150 Schoolchildren were selected from each grade in the Labrière schools to join 200 schoolchildren at Grison-Garde to help launch the School Replanting Program (SRP) in their own schools.

There are 805 school children from the 9 schools at Grison Garde.  The 6 schools at Labrière are comprised of 650 school children.
The thing that brought a lot of joy to the Cadeau Vert Cap community is that Agronomist Willeme Vixamar was able to meet with the administrator of the Haitian Christian Ministries and secured a vehicle to borrow to transport the schoolchildren from Labrière to Grison-Garde.

The main concern in the area is whenever it rains the roads are unusable. As soon as the weather was deemed favorable, the opportunity was seized to organize the launch with the 2 schools at the same time, and in the same place.

What an exuberant opportunity it was for the 150 Labrière school children to have a field trip!

The team fueled up the vehicle, picked up the schoolchildren from Labrière and brought them to Grison. After the launch, the schoolchildren were driven back to Labrière. Agronomist Daréus says that there aren’t enough words to describe the joy and the gratefulness expressed by the community. They are confident that such a program like the SRP will instill a great deal of pride and a strong sense of belonging.

Some schools in the L'Estère area have set May 1st for their Journée Verte.

Franckel St Pierre called Maître Franck by all, organized a Cadeau Vert seminar on the afternoon of Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the school Le Galiléen, where he teaches. In attendance were 11 participants from various schools in the city of L'Estère and from a nearby county called Deuxième Section.

Right from the start, the meeting began with a prayer led by one of the participants and the agenda for the seminar or School Replanting Program (SRP) as prepared by the Cadeau Vert Administration.

Enthusiastically, there were various proposals and suggestions regarding the preparation of the plant and the "Journée Verte." They ultimately reached an agreement on the approach promoted by Cadeau Vert, namely, that each student personally nurtures a plant every year. An SRP Launch Day was set in place to involve the students from the schools participating in the program.

The specific site for planting the trees is yet to be selected. Further discussions will soon take place among the school administrators to reach a decision. In the meantime, May 1st has been designated as the date for the "Journée Verte" initiative. Well in advance of this date, formal notice of the event will be sent to L’Estère City Hall.

Refreshments, followed by a group photo, ended the seminar with much enthusiasm.

Institution Flore: Beacon of Greatness in the Cayes-Simon Area 1st Seminar

The South region of Haiti is blessed by the work being done at the Institution Flore. Early morning of Saturday, February 28th, teachers and school principals from the Simon community and surrounding areas gathered to learn about the School Replanting Program of Cadeau Vert.  Fifteen schools were represented. Mrs. Florencia Fénélon Luxama and Mr. Jean Chalviré Luxama, both directors of the school, opened the seminar with prayer and a warm welcome.

Two main speakers were invited for the occasion. The first speaker, well invested in the field of agriculture, Mr. Merjuste Gregory, delivered a comparative presentation on the soils of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, drawing upon data from a study conducted by ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean).

Through a video call, Mrs. Paulette Prinston, the representative and director of Cadeau Vert presented the organization and its history. She encouraged everyone’s participation with the slogan: "One student, one tree, every year”.

Subsequently, the second workshop was presented by Agronomist Pierrilus Charlotin, who led a lively discussion on plant association—specifically how to carry out reforestation while simultaneously cultivating the soil—and the various plants that can be intercropped with traditional indigenous crops.

The participants welcomed the project in a convivial atmosphere. They came to the consensus that, indeed, school children can immensely contribute to the country's reforestation efforts.

A WhatsApp group was created to facilitate ongoing discussions regarding the best ways to support this project in the South. As they expressed concern regarding the availability of land for replanting, they would need to collaborate with the local authorities to implement the project in the surrounding communities.

A generous spread of Haitian food was set for all the participants to enjoy before they head back out to their respective villages.

ICS in 2ème Plaine, Sous Rigole organized a second seminar: 3 dynamic leaders discovered!

The Cadeau Vert Sous Rigole Team under the leadership Wood Vilnéat, John Jacobson Etienne, and Madame Raymond Pierre-Louis organized their second seminar at the Institution Chrétienne de Sous Rigole (ICS).  That exuberant team inspired three individuals to come forth, as Cadeau Vert collaborators. Those 3 young leaders are already eager to launch the SRP in their own communities. All three are very motivated to do their best to help Haiti out of this current distressing situation.

Among the participants in the seminar, one attendee listed the 3 government ministries in Haiti who should lend their support to a program such as the SRP: the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of the Environment, and the Ministry of Agriculture.

During the seminar, he was adamant that there should be an SRP throughout the whole country, starting from the 3rd grade.

We applaud such zeal to share their talent and expertise for the wellbeing of their communities. Without such collaboration the work of Cadeau vert would not have this successful embrace.

From Acul du Nord, Team Cadeau Vert Cap Heads to Plaine du Nord

From L’Acul du Nord, the Cadeau Vert Cap team headed to another area called Plaine du Nord. There, the team organized a seminar where 15 schools were represented. The Cadeau Vert SRP is welcomed everywhere. The people in the area are rejoicing that seeds of hope are being planted in their community. They feel like they are no longer alone and others are willing to shine a light in the direction of renewal.

The team described the seminar as an exciting time, a lot of questions were asked, and they really appreciated that each student would get to grow his/her tree. They said “Yes” to collaborate with Cadeau Vert and are planning to implant the SRP in their own schools.
