Cadeau Vert Cap - Seminar on School Replanting Program

By Wileme Vixamar

Cadeau Vert Cap had our first seminar with directors and teachers for different schools in the community of Acul du Nord, on June 9th 2025. The theme was “Empowering Schools in the community of Acul du Nord to Grow a Greener Future". It was amazing and everyone felt excited to take part in it.

The training session was inspiring and practical training session focused on the importance of planting trees, bringing together teachers and school leaders from various institutions: College Maranath, Ecole Nationale de Grisongade, Ecole Ebenezer and Ecole Nationale de Labriere.

The total number of teachers, directors, and community leaders who participated was 27.

From Grisongarde came 13 participants, led by Jean-Rodney PIERRE. From Labriere came 11 participants, led by Rodlin TALABERT.  They were joined by 3 Acul Du Nord Community leaders.

The objective was clear: to equip educators with knowledge and motivation to encourage students to take an active role in tree planting and environmental stewardship.

Participants explored the vital role trees play in our lives, how they purify the air, provide shade, combat climate change, support biodiversity, and improve mental and physical well-being.

The training emphasized that planting a tree is more than an act of gardening; it’s a gesture of hope, responsibility, and leadership.

Teachers and school leaders were encouraged to integrate tree planting into school life, both as a hands-on activity and a symbol of each student’s role in shaping a better future.

They were also given strategies to make tree planting a recurring, community-building event.

At the end of the session, refreshments were offered to the participants. The day ended with a strong call to action: Let every school be a garden of learning and growth, where every student plants a tree, and every tree teaches a lesson of care, patience, and purpose.
