Cambry

We are still celebrating with the community of Cambry, Les Cayes, Haïti. Last month, on July 7th, the Christian Academy of God’s Vision for Haiti held their first Journée Verte. Students and community members hiked up the mountain called Morne Cambry to plant trees and support reforestation efforts.

The students and staff of God’s Vision For Haiti Christian Academy (GVFHCA) planted 40 cedar trees and 25 cashew trees.

Agronomist Luckson described their first Journée Verte as a beautiful and productive activity. The joy and enthusiasm expressed by the students and the whole staff were inspiring and uplifting. Everyone enjoyed the event and felt like they had accomplished an important task for the wellbeing of their community.

It was such a resounding success that the academy’s director, Mrs. Jona Lazara, said that next year she would like to get even the younger schoolchildren involved. This year only the 3rd to 5th grades participated in the Journée Verte.

7 other schools were invited to participate in the Journée Verte. Agronomist Luckson did a short presentation of the School Replanting Program (SRP) of Cadeau Vert before they went out to plant the trees. It was as inspiring lesson in how to love and protect our environment.

Across the entire region, communities are enthusiastically embracing the School Replanting Program (SRP). Its positive impact is already reverberating nationwide. By uniting under the vision of "One student, one tree, every year," school administrators and civic leaders have gained renewed motivation and a shared hope for a sustainable tomorrow.

Following the tree-planting initiative under the blazing tropical sun, everyone returned to campus campus for a well-deserved refreshment.

With the few donations received, Cadeau Vert made it possible for each participant to receive a chicken sandwich and juice. THANK YOU!

Berquin

Just before the end of the school year, the town of Berquin near the locality of Miragoâne had experienced their first Journée Verte under the leadership of MisteJean Evens Jeannot. Maitre Jeannot had combined 4 classes from 3rd grade to 6th grade from the small primary school of l’ Ecole Presbitérale des Petites Sœurs de Sainte Thérèse de L’Enfant Jésus, to successfully organize the Journée Verte.

Just before the end of the school year, the town of Berquin, located near the locality of Miragoâne, organized its very first Journée Verte under the leadership of Mr. Jean Evens Jeannot. To pull off this successful event, Maitre Jeannot brought together four classes, spanning from 3rd to 6th grade, from the primary school l’Ecole Presbytérale des Petites Sœurs de Sainte Thérèse de L’Enfant Jésus.

The students planted mango trees, soursop trees, and Kachiman trees, also known as custard apples or sugar apple trees. Parents and teachers applauded the effort to revitalize the community through the School Replanting Program of Cadeau Vert.

More than ever, the team from 2eme Plaine, at Institution Chrétienne de Sous Rigole (ICS) reaffirms that their mission, among others, is to promote the School Replanting Program in all the schools as much as possible, in order to foster a sense of patriotism and environmental awareness among Haitian school children, encouraging them to properly care for their environment.

Welcome to Vaudreuil!

A new area in the north of Haiti is joining the Cadeau Vert School Replanting Program. Vaudreuil, a residential community located approximately 5 miles southwest of Cap-Haïtien in the North region of Haiti, is the third commune to partner with the organization.

The Cap Cadeau Vert Team has been working hard to plan their first seminar with school directors in this new municipality, but summer vacations made scheduling initial meetings difficult. Recently, however, they successfully connected with 10 school directors in the area.

These administrators from both Plaine du Nord and Vaudreuil are now eagerly anticipating their first planning seminar with the Cap team before the new academic year begins. .
